Welcome to Rwanda! These 5 days will give you a great opportunity to visit one of the highly-visited national parks in Rwanda. Explore and enjoy the beautiful attractions of Nyungwe Forest National Park, the chimpanzee trek, colobus monkeys, canopy walk, and the surrounding attractions such as tea plantations and Lake Kivu. You will also visit the museum in the Southern province. Engage with nature and meet local people around the beautiful countryside.
Highlights
- Nanyuki → Forest Edge Camp (or similar). A gentle walk-in through the forest.
- Forest Edge → Burguret Camp. A tougher day trekking deeper into the wilderness, crossing streams and muddy terrain.
- Burguret Camp → Upper Burguret Camp → Road Head Camp. Ascending out of the forest into the high moorland with stunning views.
- Road Head Camp → Shiptons Camp (4,300m). A high-altitude trek across the Mackinder Valley to acclimatize.
- Summit Day! Pre-dawn ascent to Point Lenana (4,985m) for sunrise, then descend to Old Moses Camp or directly out.
- Exit to Park Gate and transfer back to Nanyuki/Nairobi.
